Abstract

Conservation practitioners and natural resource managers are increasingly developing and engaging in watershed approaches to restoring degraded aquatic habitats. In many cases, this requires adopting a collaborative, trans-boundary, co-management approach that facilitates the identification of shared goals and objectives, development of plans and implementation strategies, and integrated learning among various landowners, managers, and other stakeholders. Lessons learned about the collaborative process will be shared from regional partnerships, including the Big Bend Conservation Cooperative and the Desert Landscape Conservation Cooperative, and others.
