2026 Meeting in Alpine, Texas
The Desert Fishes Council Annual Meeting will be held November 18-22nd, 2026, in Alpine, Texas, hosted at Sul Ross University.
While we had originally planned to gather in the San Antonio/San Marcos area, budget considerations prompted us to pivot west to Alpine. We are excited for the opportunity to bring DFC back to the heart of the Trans-Pecos and Sul Ross!
We are currently working to secure a lodging block for attendees. Two of Alpine’s historic hotels are undergoing renovations in the fall, so be on the lookout for an update soon with lodging recommendations and reservation information!
For those traveling by air, the closest major airports are in El Paso and Midland/Odessa, with Alpine accessible by rental car from either location. We encourage attendees to coordinate travel and carpool where possible to enjoy the scenic drive through the Trans-Pecos region!
Additional details on registration, presentation submission, field trips, and lodging are available on EasyChair where you will find the full Call for Papers and abstract submission procedures. We look forward to seeing you in West Texas this November!
