Abstract

The restoration of the San Bernardino watershed of southern Arizona - northern Sonora is ongoing and is showing results through increased water on the landscape and the reestablishment of vegetation in the riparian corridor and adjacent uplands. This watershed includes the northernmost tributaries of the Yaqui River and represents the historical and, in some cases, current range of the Yaqui fishes. This presentation, discusses the distribution of this unique native fish assemblege in the restoration area and the affects of those actions. It also offers suggestions to enhance populations in the United States and northern Mexico.Â
