These pages were created with three goals in mind:

• To improve communication among DFC members.
• To provide a resource for biologists, managers and students.
• To make information about desert fishes and aquatic ecosystems available to the general public.

Note that you might also consider publishing information contributed to this system in the prestigious journal, Environmental Biology of Fishes.

We are actively soliciting materials for these pages. If you have material that you can donate, please send a comment or email to Peter Unmack (peter.unmack_at_asu.edu), Mike Baltzly (mbaltzly_at_apsc.com), or Dean Hendrickson (webmaster at desertfishes dot org). We can use all types of reports, papers, bibliographies and photographs that are relevent to aquatic ecosystems in arid regions. Material that is already in a machine-readable format is prefered, but we can deal with small amounts of hardcopy.

NEW! - an easy and valuable contribution can be made by contributing your knowledge to the DFC/PRC Project (discontinued) for publication as species accounts here on these pages and as part of a peer-reviewed summary of the database and analysis this project will produce.

If you wish to publish images only, we can try to get a voluneer to scan them, or if you have a scanner yourself we have instructions for scanning images and editing them in Adobe photoshop. We are always on the lookout for high quality images for our Image of the Month.
