Size

To 120mm (4.8in) SL.

Introduced Distribution & Abundance

Green swordtails were reported by Thompson (1982) as being present in the Todd River. None have been reported since, and a recent survey failed to find any (Unmack unpub. data). They are also present in come streams around Brisbane and other Queensland coastal drainages. Native to Central and South America (Merrick & Schmida 1984).

Threats to other Species

None at present, as they are no longer found in Central Australia.
