The 2024 Desert Fish Council shirt this year was designed by Lindsey Elkinns. Lindsey Elkins is a Water Resource Biologist with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department who specializes in modeling spatiotemporal impacts of climate change, anthropogenic alteration, and drought on desert stream ecology with a particular focus on Cyprinodontid fishes.
Lindsey drew inspiration for the design from Colorado’s natural tapestry, characterized by striking red rock formations, expansive sagebrush plains, alpine streams, and wildflower meadows. The design features the native Colorado pikeminnow (Ptychocheilus lucius) who has garnered attention through conservation efforts in the Colorado River Basin, making it a symbol of wildlife preservation in the region.
