This page displays each of the separate 3 separate DFC-owned (by desertfishes@gmail.com) calendars. First it shows, in separate frames, each of the two independent calendars in which meeting schedules are created and finalized.
These two calendars are:
- “DFC non-abstract events”, the content of which is intended to be finalized by the local host and excomm as far in advance of meetings as possible, and
- “DFC abstracts schedule”, the content of which is imported by the Program Chair (or webmaster) using data exported from the abstract database/spreadsheet provided by the webmaster for scheduling.
In the third frame, these same two calendars are shown dynamically merged for easy checking for conflicts. These calendars are viewable by anyone (they have to be to allow them to be displayed here), but not linked to any webpages other than this one.
The fourth frame displays the 3rd independent, permanent, public DFC calendar (named “DFC Calendar”) that is viewable by anyone via the website (http://www.desertfishes.org/?page_id=2012), to which final data from the other two are imported. Thus this calendar, “DFC Calendar” will retain a permanent record of all finalized meeting content.
These calendars could, in future, also be used for other DFC calendar content, such as mid-year excomm date/place, meeting minutes, powerpoints of presentations/posters, registration packet materials – e.g. see floor plan attachment for the 2016 Albuquerque meeting (uploaded to Google Drive and attached to the top, multi-day overall meeting event).

Finally, the frame below displays the current public calendar (“DFC Calendar”). This is a completely separate, static data set that also appears in the public webpage for the DFC calendar. So, for most of any year, what appears here may be only data for past meetings (thus providing in this calendar an archive of past meeting schedules), and simply placeholders for future ones. But, once the data presented in the frame immediately above are finalized by all involved, those data will be copied to this calendar (and so, at the same time will become available via the public DFC calendar page:
